Carvoeiro is a picturesque fishing village nestling between high cliffs which rise steeply from tiny village square and the delightful beach. The village is located just east of Portimao and is a wonderful blend of traditional fishermen's cottages and new holiday villas set in the hillside. Albufeira, one of the most popular resorts on the Algarve, has retained its charm and character, particularly in the old town. It is built on and between the hills overlooking the Atlantic.
