Car Hire - 2026  - Lagorent (To get these prices you need to book through Valgarve )

LAGORENT  is a small company, therefore early bookings (especially high season) are necessary. They offer a first class service with a meet and greet service at Faro airport (see below). The prices include Unlimited Mileage, Taxes and CDW.

Out of hours times/charges - 30.00 Euros before 0800hrs and after 2000hrs

​FOR ANY CAR WHICH, WHEN ON ARRIVAL HAS AN AMOUNT OF PETROL IN TANK BUT IS NOT RETURNED WITH THE SAME AMOUNT/PARKING TICKETS ETC.  IF YOU DO NOT GIVE CREDIT CARD DETAILS ON THE FORM IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ADVISE REPRESENTATIVE AT FARO.    LAGORENT HAVE PURCHASED DEVICES/TRANSPONDERS WHICH REGISTERS THE TOLLS AND FOR THIS IT WILL INCUR A  + 7.50 EUROS ADMIN FEE  (only for toll roads - however not Faro to Luz/return + **30 EUROS CAR HIRE TAX SHOULD IT APPLY (DOES NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE TAKING BACK/PICKING UP AT COMPOUND)
**  Portuguese airport authority ANA (which is currently owned and operated by the private French consortium VINCI) require an Airport Tax for ​all operating rent-a cars which will be applied to all clients that  collect and return their vehicles to the airport car park. For 2026 the price for this has increased to 25 EUROS (the allocated car park is not for normal use so if you are picking up someone you must use public car park or you will incur another charge).   To avoid paying the pick up charge, Lagorent would transport you/from their depot but this could add a much longer wait.

TOLL (not applicable in the Algarve) but for anyone intending to go out of the Algarve Lagorent have invested in devices which monitor your car going through the tolls, they will then pay for the fees  plus there is an additional 7,50 euro admin fee. The Portuguese government have now introduced a 25 euro tax on all car hire picked up at the airport. You have a choice, either to pay this OR Lagorent will pick you up at airport and take you to their compound to pick up car BUT this can take quite a lot of extra time.

The following prices are per “one way”  for up to 4 people or a larger vehicle for up to 8 people .  There is a surcharge of 20% during the hours of 8pm to 0700 am.
